I have been working on this for the last few days, mostly because of waiting for this AMAZING ALBUM ART. (Seriously if you haven’t checked out Vickybit’s comic yet, you are missing out.)
Let me walk you through what is happening here:
0.00 - We start with the Showtime intro, which is really downplayed in remixes. Its a pretty cool and well written part, hopefully I do it justice.
0.19 - here the arpeggiated line from showtime is played in a middle register. Nice.
0.35 - was that Zillyhoo?
0.42 - the melody finally comes in, in a middle voice as well.
1.05 - The middle melody descends into Explore
1.23 - Black stabs its way in there.
1.29 - [S] Key: Ascend to D minor we are introduced to a bass register here.
1.48 - man you really like that zillyhoo line don’t you.
2.17 - Harlequin
2.29 -Harlequin played over zillyhoo? This is MADNESS.
2.42 - How low do you even have to be to play this melody
3.05 - Things seem to be clearing up. What? Why is it getting louder? Is that ZILLYHOO AGAIN
3.29 - You know what fuck it just play harlequin on top of Showtime.
3.41 - Zillyhoo smashes its way into the clusterfuck.
3.53 - Melody in the higher register. This is the part I wrote first, believe it or not. Climax of the piece.
4.18 - The ending is in sight. Listen for harlequin right at the end.
This is SO COOL and the perfect soundtrack to the collab I’m about to finish up.
